The Awesome News!!! ( The Special Edition)

                                     The Awesome News from the day of the  tournament!

 

 

1. We all went to Champlin Park High School for the tournament.
2. We had to go in a different building for Project Out Reach: Real 2 Reel
3. We were put 4th place out of the whole state at elmentary level.
4. We all danced at the Award's Show.
5. We all met another team from Greenwood in fourth grade ( That's the same grade as us and, the team's an all girls group).
6. We had to share one classroom with 5 other teams.
7. We got thirty minutes behind :-(
8. We had to be checked for some silly things ( like, sparks, flamable etc.)
9. There was this woman named Lisa Melby who really was funny ( and checked for the silly things and told the audience that her brother in law's turtles names are, Sonar and Depth Charge).
10. We all had head measurements for the headbands ( Execpt for me, Sahil, and, Eli)
11. Our awesome assistant director Simran made us headbands ( Thanks!!!)
12. There was one judge that kept gasping when Amogh mentioned we had 45 days to do this project ( And I will not give the name).
13. Eli entered his hat in the crazy hat contest.
14. Sahil's mom got candy ( And let's just say that 3 special kids got candy. That's right!!! I was one of them. Guess the other 2).
15. Well, we got to see the Lac of Sleep performance and The bully performance. I thought the Bully one was a bit better.
16. We all got to see booths that sell trinkets.
17. NOBODY should ever try that cafeteria food!! It is really bad.
18. We got see people from different parts of Minnesota ( Like Plymouth, Duluth etc.).
19. Me, Prem, and, Amogh, went to Buffalo Wild Wings to celebrate ( Our food came an HOUR late).
20. Simran entered her hat in the contest.
21. We found out that one judge, Karen had a Darth Vader Ringtone.
22. We had to make the instant challenge a secret.
23. We got a problem solving sheet while we were waiting for the instant challenge.
24. We found out another team from Greenwood ( The members are in 5th grade) are going to Globals.
25. We lost points at the instant challenge because, we had an additional minute and we used that but, the additional minute will make you get less points.
26. The audience was not that big at Project Out Reach : Real 2 Reel.
27. We chose Project OutReach because, it had nothing to do with Regonials scoring.

 

                 Now, I have an important message that will make people shocked or screaming. Okay, we got into the one and only GLOBALS!!!!! Well you might ask how we got in but, we were selected as a wild card team. We have to raise money for this event. I'm sure it's gonna be top notch fun!!! According to Simran ( Whose been in Globals for 4 years) said that we'll trade pins, drink lemonade, swim in the hotel pool, eat out, and, meet people around the world. We are very exicited for this!!!

 

               Now, I would like to thank everyone helped on this project ( Because we never got to say it at the end of our presentation). I would like to give a huge thank you to the DI moms. And thank you so much Simran. We would've never gotten into globals without your help with instant challenges. And last but not least, the team manager. We would've not gotten into globals if it wasn't for your help. Thank you so much for not giving up on us. Thank you for organizing the meetings we had and the booths. And thanks action for healthy kids. Thanks for supplying the booth materials that we needed.

Welcome to the interview ( This sounds like Kerli's Tea Party when you say Welcome to the intervew)

Me- I didn't like the fact that some people goofed off and whenever people stop talking, people go upstairs and just play with eachother. I like the fact that Eli tells people to stop goofing off. I feel like whenever we do instant chalenges, one person is left out. So I think 2 people should get that job. I did like the fact that Amogh and Sahil found a way to compromise both songs. I also loved the way we split the main group into little groups to work on things. On some days, we got a bit goofy but in all fairness I say we all deserve the highest medal we can get ( Seruiously, I don't know the highest medal, so feel free to drop it off at the comment boxes). So, I think we should make this an ongoing sort of thing. I think DI is where you get to be creative so, I liked that. This is what I liked and didn't like about DI.


                                            The Date and times of Globals
           Well, we have not worked on the details. We are going in a car or plane. It's going to be from May 22nd to May 25th. We hope that this year's globals will be fun since this is our first time. The Campus is at the University of Tenesesse. We have to discuss about the instant challenge piece since that's why we got into 4th place in Elementary level. We also have to discuss about the pin trading. Simran gave us 1 starter pin to each of us.

Destination Imagination 3

1. We all went to Plymouth's library to practice our skit.
2. We all went to the Hindu Mandir Temple to practice our skit.
3. Amogh and Sahil came up with ways to compromise the two songs since we don't have time for both.
4. We all got our final press conference questions.
5. We all got a call regarding the final press conference questions. 
6. We all performed at Greenwood Elementary School.
7. Eli made a creative hat for the part of Hermes.
8. Sahil made a vine wraparound and a lightning bolt.
9. I made Demeter's vine phone and, Apollo's iPod.
10. Niranjani has her Nike shoes ( In honor of Nike).
11. Our assistant director, Simran gave us helpful pointers while practicing the skit.
12. Amogh made the final changes to the script.
13. We got our GoAnimate movie ( made by Amogh).
14. Me, Prem, Niranjani, and, Amogh, got our Popardy recording!!
15. Sahil and Amogh went to Menards.
16. Niranjani made the scrapbook which turned out to be better than I thought.
17. The song combines " Health Shop" and, " Obesity". 
18. We all can change in the amount of time we all have.
19. We got our puppet video. 
20. We had our last day of instant challenges.
21. We all have our togas.
22. We had to cut a line saying, " Where were you Demeter", because we don't have that much time.
23. It's good thing we all memorized our lines.
24. I got Demeter's fruit platter.
25. Eli came up with this smart idea that we use PVC connecters and put two backgrounds stuck together.

Destination Imagination 2

                                   List of things the team or people have done.

1. Amogh made a script.
2. They all rehearsed scene 1.
3. On 4/1/13, we did instant challenges and, Niranjani was in the lead with 8 points.
4. Niranjani made an anime avatar for the animation.
5. We all got new jobs for the instant challenges.
6. Francine Fruitandvegtable was on the carpet and, when I picked her up, her foot got caught in the carpet and fell out. :-(.
7. For the puppet show, Prem got Twinkie, Sahil got Soda Pop, Amogh got Doritos, I got Francine Fruitandvegtable, Eli got the news reporter, Niranjani got Michelle Goodbody, and, who ever was left got the fruit sidekicks of Francine.
8. Mostly 5/6 people were present.
9. Each meeting was 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours long.
10. Annette Kurek brought us the puppets and, copies of the script and, helped us.
11. We all were shown a video of how to make greek costumes.
12. Me and Niranjani tried out the Greek costumes.
13. In the scene one, Prem is Apollo, Eli is Hermes, I am Demeter, Niranjani is Nike, Amogh is Asclepius, and, Sahil is Zeus.
14. Amogh made an animated video with Healthy Hal and Junky Joe.
15. We all were taught to move the puppets while we're talking,
16. My string got tangled a little.
17. A bit damage was done to Michelle Goodbody.
18. Me and Niranjani were tested on some simple ( not to hard) questions that the judges may ask.
19. We have meetings all week since we all go to the same school and have spring break on the same days.

Destination Imagination

1. We did a Cub Foods booth but, put it in an ironic location next to the cookics and cake.
2.  Prem, and, Niranjani did a booth at Holi (Osseo Senior High School).
3. Me and Niranjani drew some costume bluprints.
4. We did some instant challenges.
5. We met with the cullinary express lady after school.
6. We all saw Amogh's Mission Possible: End Childhood Obesity facebook page.
7. We all did a puppet show on 3/29/13.
8. Mine and Prem's family conacted a doctor in our neighborhood.
9. My family contacted the City of Plymouth but failed because, City of Plymouth has stuff to do. 
10. Sahil and Amogh did the Connect India booth.
11. Amogh's up to date on his facebook page.
12. We got 78 likes on our facebook page.
13. The chracters are Bullies, Healthy Hal, Junky Joe, and, Greek Gods.
14. We are NOT using Indian mythology because, we thought people wouldn't get the point.
15. Everyone got at least 15 minutes of break time.
16. Mostly, it's only five out of six people.
17. The puppet show was at 5:30 in the evening on 3/29/13.
18. We have the background music and it's the Harmonium, violin, and, recorder.
19. The meetings were either 1 1/2 to 2 hours long.
20. Only 4/6 people were there. :-( for meeting 6.
21. Not many people stayed till the end for meeting 6.
22. Amogh and Sahil made an obesity poster on the internet.
23. Prem made a 3x3 black and white poster.
24. I made a colorful poster with regular sized paper.
25. Me and Prem made huge posters for the Cub Foods Booth using posterboard.
26. We all got imformed that there's gonna be a six hour meeting on 3/30/13.
27. Me and Prem made a goofy movie trailer.
28. I didn't take blog notes I'm using my memeory as I write this.
29. The Puppet Show chracters are, Michelle Goodbody, Twinkie, Francine Fruitandvegtable, Dorito, and, Soda Pop.
30. We all took a two polls during recess: video games or outside and, do you drink 5-7 cups of water everyday?
31. We color coded lunch menus at Sahil's house.
32. Everyone got their press confrence questions that they need to answer.
33. At every booth, we passed out flyers for an exotic palates cooking class.
34. At Cub Foods, Niranjani's cousins helped :-)
35. We passed out apples, colored fact papers, and, free karate classes.
36. Erin, a woman from Optum Health came in and talked to us.

                       

Destination Imagination Meeting 3

  The third meeting of the Greenwood Maniacs, was amazing. The meeting was two hours long. All six people were there. We first set ground rules of what we want to accomplish at the meeting. Niranjani first, showed us a slideshow about childhood obesity. It showed us the charts of obesity. 
  The next thing was, Eli made a good point on childhood obesity. He said something about children throwing a fit because, they don't get to buy unhealthy food. It's called the Nag factor when you want something really bad. We also got that on tape. 
  Then, we all saw a list of some ways that obesity can cause effect on the human body. The most common one is, type 2 diabetes. We all know that it can give you a bad heart. You can also get high blood pressure. It can also cause acid reflux.
  The team also came up with the team project's name, Mission Possible:H.A.F., or health and fitness.1 of our members came up with that acronym. we had a lot of plans like,an assembly,posters,a 5 K run,fundraisers and and announcement. We even planned contact people from the Greenwood news. We even planned to get sponsors like, Optum Health and, General Mills, etc. 
   We even came up with ideas to decrease on obesity in school. Like, gym fitness for kids. The second idea was, to do healthy diet time for kids. Someone on our team came up with a survey for our school cafeteria food. 
  The third meeting was good. The team hopes that the project proposal with the school principal will go pretty well. This was the Greenwood Maniacs third meeting. 

Destination Imagination meetings 4 and 5

  In this meeting, we accomplished teamwork. We did all of our assignments. Here's what we did.
                                                Good and Creative Things
     I made a brochure about obesity. 
     Prem made a speech about obesity in his pamphlet.
     Sahil made the most funny movie trailer. 
     Instead of the Oscar Awards, we came up with the Sticker Awards.
     We made a little skit using the rules we know.
     We found out how to escape from a birdcage with creative ways.
     Prem made a nice slogan.
     We all used Greek Mythology for the movie plot.
     We all tried using Indian Mythology for the movie plot.
     We got a lot of feedback from meeting 4 from the assistant.
     We all pitched in with the principal's meeting with us.
     Me and Eli came up with frequently asked questions.
     We all agreed to have the posters by March 17th.
     Niranjani helped me by taking notes for the blog.
     Prem tried contacting the City Of Plymouth.
     We all promised to get a movie trailer from iMovie.
     Prem, Sahil, and, Me, tried coming up with a theme song.
     Our meeting with the principal went well.
     Sahil's gonna call Optum Health as a sponsor.
     Niranjani's gonna call General Mills as a sponsor.
     The principal said that we're gonna be mentioned for the citizenship assembly.
      We came up with the sticker awards from Sahil's dog's name, Sticker.
      Everyone at least got 20 minutes of break time.
      
  These two meetings were amazing!!!
